Gershwin's Goulash
Gershwin'S Goulash is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 lb. ground round steak, 3 tbsp. olive or salad oil, 1 (1 lb. 12 oz.) can tomatoes, 1 qt. tomato juice and 2 c. chopped onions, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Cook beef in oil in Dutch oven until brown.
Add the next 10 ingredients.
Cover; simmer for 1 hour.
Stir in kidney beans and pickles.
Cook for 30 minutes longer.
Remove bay leaf.
Add 1 teaspoon salt to boiling water.
Add macaroni gradually to water. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until tender.
Drain in colander.
Combine with goulash; heat through.
Yields 10 servings.
