German Chocolate Cake
German Chocolate Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (4 oz.) pkg. baker's german's sweet chocolate, 1/2 c. boiling water, 1 c. butter or margarine, 2 c. sugar and 4 egg yolks, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Melt chocolate in boiling water.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add yolks, 1 at a time, beating well after each.
Blend in vanilla and chocolate.
Sift flour with soda and salt; add alternately with buttermilk to chocolate mixture, beating after each addition until smooth.
Fold in beaten whites. Pour into three 9-inch layer pans, lined on bottom with wax paper. Bake at 350Β° for 30 to 35 minutes.
