German Cheese Cake
German Cheese Cake is a tall, smooth baked cheesecake made with ricotta, sour cream, cream cheese, butter, eggs, flour, cornstarch, vanilla, and lemon juice. A slow rest in the turned-off oven helps the rich filling set without collapsing.
Place the ingredients in the order given in a large mixing bowl.
Beat on low speed to combine, then increase to medium.
Finish by beating on high for about 10 minutes, until the batter is smooth and liquid.
Grease and flour a round 10-inch by 3-inch baking pan.
Pour in the batter and bake in a preheated 350 F oven for 1 hour.
Turn off the oven and leave the cake inside with the door closed for 1 additional hour.
Cool on a rack, then refrigerate before serving.
