Garden Salad
Garden Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 green pepper, chopped, 1 medium cabbage, shredded, 1 large carrot (raw), shredded, 3 ribs celery, diced and 2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Mix vegetables (all but cabbage).
Boil sugar, white vinegar, 1 teaspoon salt, celery seed and mustard seed; let cool.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon salt on shredded cabbage and let stand 1 hour. Squeeze out moisture.
Package and refrigerate what syrup you don't use for later date (does not call for oil).
