Fruited Chicken
Fruited Chicken is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. pitted prunes, 1/2 c. water, 1 tbsp. butter, 1 tbsp. oil and 3 lb. chicken (pieces), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Chop prunes and soak in water for 1 hour. In large skillet, heat butter & oil; add chicken and brown 5-10 minutes on all sides. Arrange chicken in shallow baking dish. Add onions to skillet and saute' 5 minutes. Stir in garlic, tomatoes, salt & pepper, and nutmeg. Simmer 5 minutes. Pour over chicken and bake at 375Β° for 30 minutes.
Pour prune mixture over chicken and bake until chicken is tender. Serves six.
