Fruit of the Bayou
Fruit Of The Bayou is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 qt. milk, 1 stick oleo or butter, 2 lb. white crab meat, 2 c. chopped celery and 2 tbsp. fresh chopped parsley, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Make white sauce with milk, flour and butter. Add seafood. Saute celery, bell pepper, parsley and green onions in a little butter. Add sherry, mushrooms, egg yolks (whipped) and seasonings. Combine with cream sauce and fish. Fold in grated cheese. Bake in a greased casserole with buttered crumbs on top.
Bake 35 minutes at 350Β° until bread crumbs lightly brown and casserole is bubbly.
