Fruit Cookies
Fruit Cookies is an impressive dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 egg, 1/2 c. corn syrup and 1/2 c. sour milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Cream shortening and sugar together; add well beaten egg, syrup, milk and flour sifted with soda, salt, spices, raisins (cut in halves), nuts and coconut.
Mix well.
Spread thinly in well greased and floured shallow pan.
Bake at 375Β° for about 20 minutes.
While still warm, spread thinly with icing made by moistening confectioners sugar with milk or water and vanilla. When cold, cut into squares or diamonds, then remove from pan.
