Fruit Cake(England)
Fruit Cake(England) is an impressive dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. butter, 1/2 lb. lard, 2 lb. granulated sugar, 1 tsp. nutmeg and 1 tsp. cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Line 8 bread pans with wax paper.
Cream shortening and sugar. Add spices, molasses and beaten eggs.
Mix thoroughly.
Add currants and raisins.
Cut up candied fruit and add; chop walnuts and add.
Add salt and baking soda.
Alternately add coffee and flour, using only enough coffee to make mixture moist.
Bake in a 250Β° oven for 2 hours or until toothpick comes out dry.
Yields 8 loaves.
