Fruit Cake
Fruit Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 2 c. water, 1 c. raisins, 2 tbsp. crisco and 2 c. flour, sifted, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Boil together for 15 minutes sugar, water, raisins and Crisco.
When cool, add flour sifted with cinnamon, cloves and allspice.
Add baking soda to mixture.
Bake slowly in low oven (275Β°) 3 to 3 1/2 hours or until done.
To make a richer cake add candied citron, orange, lemon, pineapple and candied cherries.
