Fruit Cake
Fruit Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. seedless raisins, 1 1/2 c. cut up dates, 2 c. sugar, 2 c. boiling water and 5 tbsp. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Simmer the first 5 ingredients until sugar dissolves, then cool.
Add the cherries and walnuts.
Sift together the flour, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon and salt. Add flour mixture to cooled fruit.
Mix well and pour into greased and floured pans. Bake at 325Β° for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.
Should make 2 cakes.
