Core apples, leaving peel on.
Slice 1/4-inch thick.
Mix egg, flour, 1/4 cup sugar and milk.
Heat oil (1/4-inch deep) in frying pan over medium heat.
Dip apple slices in batter.

Turn over with spatula and brown on other side. Drain on paper towel.
Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture while hot.
