Fresh Gooseberry Pie

Crush 1/2 cup gooseberries.
Combine sugar, tapioca and salt. Add the whole gooseberries.
Cook and stir until mixture thickens. Pour into pastry-lined plate and dot with butter or margarine. Bake in hot oven at 450° for 10 minutes.
Reduce temperature to 350° and bake about 30 minutes longer or until crust is done.
