Fresh Coconut Cake

Cream shortening, adding sugar gradually.
Cream until mixture is very fluffy.
Add eggs, beat mixture until light and fluffy. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together; add to mixture alternately with milk until milk and dry ingredients have all been added.
Add vanilla.
Pour into three greased cake pans and bake at 350Β° for 30 to 35 minutes.
