Fresh Apple Pie
Fresh Apple Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 to 8 apples, 2 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch, 2/3 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and dash of maple syrup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Prepare double crust pie recipe; roll out 1/2 of dough.
Place in 9-inch pie pan; set aside.
Peel and slice apples into 6 sections, removing all of core.
Sprinkle with lemon juice; set aside.
Mix cornstarch, sugar, salt and cinnamon thoroughly; sprinkle over prepared apples and toss thoroughly.
Arrange apple mixture in pie pan; dot with butter.
Roll out top crust; cover apple filling.
Cut slits in top center.
Sprinkle top crust with flour-sugar mixture, then a slight sprinkle of water.
Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350°; continue to bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
