French Onion Soup
French Onion Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 qt. beef bouillon (2 cans plus 2 cans water), 3 c. thinly sliced yellow onions, 1/4 c. butter, 1 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Saute onions in butter slowly, covered.
Cook 15 minutes on low (not browned).
Add salt, sugar and flour, stir well.
Put all in crock-pot with bouillon.
Cook 6 to 8 hours on low or 3 hours on high.
Place croutons in bowl.
Add soup.
Top with grated cheeses.
Brown a little under broiler.
