French Bread

French Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 pkg. dry yeast, 1/2 c. lukewarm water, 1 1/2 c. warm milk, 5 or 6 c. all-purpose or bread flour and 4 tbsp. oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Dissolve yeast in warm water; add milk, oil, salt and sugar. Stir until sugar and salt is dissolved.

Pour flour into large bowl; pour liquid into flour and work until dough becomes stiff. Knead by hand for 5 minutes.

Put dough into greased bowl; grease top of dough.

Cover with towel and let rise until double in size. Remove from bowl and punch down.

Divide into 4 pieces and shape into long loaves.

Brush with egg white and 1 tablespoon water. Let rise again for 35 to 40 minutes.

Preheat oven to 475Β°.

Bake about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
