Frances' Fruitcake
Frances' Fruitcake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. butter, 1 lb. brown sugar, 8 eggs, 3 1/2 c. plain flour and 1 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cream the butter and sugar well.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing.
Sift about 1 cup of the flour over fruits and nuts, tossing to coat well.
To remaining flour, add baking powder. Stir into creamed mixture.

Grease, then line with brown paper, a deep tube pan and a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
Lightly grease the paper. Spread batter into the 2 pans.
