Meat may be frozen, no need to thaw.
Place meat into large casserole (5 or 6 quarts).
Place meat in casserole dish.
Place vegetables around it, sliced, and the onion on top.
Sprinkle with sugar, cornstarch, salt and pepper.
Pour tomato juice over all. Bake at 250Β° for 4 hours, covered.
Do not open oven until done.
