Foundation Sweet Dough
Foundation Sweet Dough is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 cakes yeast, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 c. lukewarm water, 1 c. milk and 6 tbsp. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Dissolve yeast and
1 tablespoon lukewarm water. Scald add shortening, sugar and salt.
Cool to lukewarm. Add 2 flour to make a batter.
Add yeast and beaten eggs, beat well. Add remaining flour or enough to make a soft dough. Knead lightly and place in greased bowl.
Cover and set in warm place, from draft. Let until doubled in bulk, about 2 hours.
When light, punch dough down and shape as desired. Bake at 400Β° for 20 to 25 minutes.
