Forgotten Torte
Forgotten Torte is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 large egg whites, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar, 1 1/2 c. sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Preheat oven to 450Β°.
Butter bottom only of tube pan.
Have whites at room temperature.
Add salt and cream of tartar.
Beat until almost stiff. Add sugar slowly, 2 tablespoons at a time, and continue to beat.
Beat in vanilla last and spread evenly in buttered pan.
Put in oven. Close door and turn off heat at once. Forget until the next morning.
Loosen edges and turn out in plate.
Frost with stiffly beaten cream. Serve with fresh sliced strawberries.
