Foolproof Pie Crust
Foolproof Pie Crust is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. regular white flour, 1 3/4 c. shortening (i.e. crisco), 1 tbsp. sugar, 2 tsp. salt and 1 tbsp. vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine flour, shortening, sugar and salt.
Mix very well. Combine vinegar, water and egg and add to flour mixture.
Mix with hand until it forms 1 large ball.
Chill 15 minutes.
Divide into 6 balls.
Roll on lightly floured board.
Makes 6 single crusts or 3 double.
Unused crust may be frozen or refrigerated.
