Flour Tortillas
Flour Tortillas is an easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 4 tsp. baking powder (level), 2 tsp. salt, 4 tbsp. mayonnaise and 1 1/2 c. warm water (but start with less), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Blend dry ingredients and cut in mayo with fork.
Add water and knead until smooth.
Cover and let stand for fifteen minutes. Form balls and roll each one flat, trying to keep a round shape (not easy, takes practice).
Fry one at a time in a hot dry skillet or on a tortilla griddle.
Resist the temptation to grease the cooking surface!
When large bubbles form, they can be flattened with a spatula.
Good eating!
