Sift flour with salt; cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine meal.

Sprinkle with water, a tablespoon at a time, mixing lightly with fork until all of the flour is moistened. Form dough into ball; divide in half.

Roll each to 1/8-inch thickness on lightly floured board; fit pastry loosely into pie plates. Prick bottom and sides with fork.

Trim and flute edges. Bake in preheated hot oven at 400Β° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes 2 (8 or 9-inch) crusts.
