Finnish Bread
Finnish Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. scalded milk, 7 to 8 c. flour, 2 tsp. salt, 2 to 3 eggs, beaten and 1 cake yeast, softened in 1/4 c. warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Mix together the milk, yeast and about 1/3 of the flour.
Beat well and let stand 1 hour.
Stir in the sugar, salt, butter, eggs and cardamom seed; beat well. Add the rest of the flour and knead the dough thoroughly.
Let rise until double in size.
Shape in loaves or rolls and let rise again.
Bake at 375° to 400° for 30 minutes.
