English Toffee is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. margarine, 1/3 c. brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. soda, 3 to 5 hershey bars and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Sprinkle nuts in 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
In 3-quart saucepan, melt margarine; add sugars and water.
Mix well.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Continue to cook to 300Β° or hard crack stage.
Remove from heat and stir in soda.
Pour over nuts in pan.
Let cool 5 minutes.
Place chocolate bars (in pieces) on toffee.
As heat melts them, spread the chocolate.
When completely cool, break into pieces.
