Ellie'S Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. sifted flour, 1 1/2 c. butter, 5 drops lemon juice, 3/4 c. sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cream butter, gradually adding sugar.
Beat this mixture until light with hand mixer.
Add egg yolks, vanilla and lemon juice; blend well.
Add salt to flour, then gradually add flour mixture to wet mixture.

Form 1/2-inch balls; dip first into slightly beaten egg whites, then into nuts.
Bake for 5 minutes; remove from oven.
