Easy Fruit Cake
Easy Fruit Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1 c. raisins or substitute, 1/2 c. raisins, 1 c. candied fruit and 2 c. boiling water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Combine in 4-quart saucepan the sugar, raisins or substitute, raisins and candied fruit.
Add boiling water, cinnamon, salt and Crisco.
Mix well and bring to a boil.
Boil for 5 minutes.
Chill thoroughly and add baking soda and water.
Mix well and add flour. Mix well and pour in 8 x 10-inch greased pan.
Bake at 300Β° about 1 hour.
