Easy English Muffins
Easy English Muffins is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. yeast, 2 c. warm water, 1/2 c. shortening, 2 tsp. salt and 1 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Mix yeast in warm water in large mixing bowl.
Add shortening, salt, sugar and 3 cups flour.
Blend well, and beat vigorously until smooth.
Gradually add remaining flour to form a stiff dough, beating well.
Generously grease three (1-pound) coffee cans, sprinkle insides with corn meal.
Divide dough into 3 portions; shape each into a smooth round ball, and place in prepared cans. Let rise in warm place until doubled in size.
Bake at 375Β° for 40 to 45 minutes.
Remove from pans immediately.
When cool, slice.
