Easy Anadama Bread

In large bowl, combine cornmeal, 1 cup of the flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
In saucepan, heat water, molasses, butter, fennel and anise seed to 120°.
Pour over dry ingredients.
Beat in egg and 1 cup of the flour.
Then add last cup of flour.
Knead lightly.
Put in two small bread pans or one regular size pan. Put in warm place and let rise until doubled.
Bake for 30 minutes in a 375° oven.
