Preheat oven to 375Β°.
In large bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in vanilla, then the egg.
Add cocoa, flour, soda and salt. Beat at low speed until mixture forms a stiff dough.
Stir in chocolate chunks.
Drop by rounded tablespoons 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake 8 to 12 minutes.
Cook 2 minutes before transferring to wire rack.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
