Dorothy'S Apple Pie Filling is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 1/2 c. sugar, 3/4 c. cornstarch, 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg, 3 tbsp. lemon juice and 5 1/2 to 6 lb. tart apples, peeled, sliced and cored, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

In large saucepan blend first 4 ingredients and 1 teaspoon salt.
Stir in 10 cups water; cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
Add lemon juice, pack apples into hot jars, leaving 1 inch headspace to help distribute syrup.
Process in cold packer 15 minutes for pints and 20 minutes for quarts.
Makes 6 quarts. Bake pie at 350Β° for 50 minutes.
