Divinity is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. corn syrup, 1/8 tsp. salt, 2/3 c. water and 2 egg whites, well beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Cook sugar, syrup, salt and water in a saucepan until a small amount forms a soft ball when tested in cold water.

Take out 1/2 cup of this mixture and cook the remainder until it forms a hard ball when tested in cold water.

Pour the 1/2 cup mixture slowly over the beaten egg whites.

Beat constantly.

Continue beating and add the remainder of the syrup when ready.

Stir in nuts and vanilla.

Continue beating until mass thickens and becomes heavy. Drop with a teaspoon onto waxed paper.

Yields 48 servings.
