Delmonico Nut Cake

Cream butter, shortening and egg yolks.
In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients.
Add to creamed mixture gradually, alternating with buttermilk.
Fold in pecans.
Add vanilla.
Fold in egg whites.
Pour into well-greased Bundt pan and bake at 350Β° for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
