Date Pudding is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. water, 1 tbsp. butter, 1 c. (scant) sugar, 1 1/2 c. (scant) brown sugar and 1 tbsp. butter, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Make a syrup of the first 3 ingredients, boiling until well melted.

Make it in the same pan you will bake pudding in, either square or oblong.

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, 1 tablespoon butter, milk, dates and nuts.

Stir well to mix.

Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt and add to batter, mixing well. Carefully pour batter into pan of syrup but do not stir.

Bake 20 to 25 minutes according to oven, suggest 350Β°.

Serve plain or with whipped cream.
