Date Nut Bread
Date Nut Bread is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. pitted dates, 3/4 c. white raisins, 2 c. water, 1 stick oleo and 4 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Place dates, raisins and water in pan to boil slowly 15 minutes covered.
Set aside for cooling or even overnight.
Cream sugars and oleo; add eggs.
Beat well, then add all ingredients and flour.
Stir well.
Add 1 cup chopped nuts, if desired.
Make 4 small to medium loaves or 3 large loaves.
Bake at 325° for 25 minutes, then at 300°.
Total Baking Time
45 to 55 minutes. Test for doneness with a toothpick.
Do not overbake.
