Date Cake
Date Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. boiling water, 1 tsp. soda, 2 eggs, 1 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Pour boiling water over dates, soda and butter.
Let stand for about 5 minutes.
Stir until dates are in small pieces.
Beat eggs, salt and vanilla.
Add to mixture.
Add sugar gradually. Beat until thick.
Add flour and baking powder which have been sifted together.
Bake for 30 minutes at 300Β°.
