Date and Nut Bread
Date And Nut Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. chopped dates, 1/2 c. sugar, 1/4 c. butter (1/2 stick), 3/4 c. boiling water and 1 tbsp. rum (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Mix in large bowl dates, sugar, butter and water.
Stir until butter melts.
Stir in the egg, soda, flour, nuts and rum. Put in a buttered loaf pan.
Bake 50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean in a 350Β° oven.
For a sweeter bread, double nuts, rum and sugar.
Great served with cream cheese.
Slices best when allowed to sit overnight.
