Date and Nut Bars
Date And Nut Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/3 c. boiling water, 2 c. pitted chopped dates, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 c. sugar and 3/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Pour boiling water over dates and cool.
Place shortening, sugar, salt, spices, eggs and cooled date mixture in large mixing bowl.
Beat until thoroughly blended.
Sift together flour and baking soda.
Add with nuts to first mixture.
Beat until blended. Place mixture in greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
Spread evenly. Bake in 350Β° oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
Cool in pan and cut. Roll in powdered sugar.
