Crunchy Apple Squares
Crunchy Apple Squares is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar, 3/4 c. sugar, 1/2 c. oleo and 1 c. pecans or walnuts, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Combine flour, brown sugar, 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon; cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in nuts. Reserve 2 cups of this crumb mixture; press remaining mixture onto bottom of 13 x 9-inch baking pan that has been greased with butter.
Combine cream cheese and milk, mixing well.
Add vanilla, egg and remaining sugar; mixing well.
Pour this mixture over crust and spread evenly.
Add chopped apples on top, spreading over mixture.
Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
Cut in squares.
