Mix first 5 ingredients in heavy saucepan.

Bring to a boil and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches 225° or about 20 minutes after boiling starts.

Add pecans and continue cooking to soft ball stage (236°).

Remove from heat.

Beat well.

Drop by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper.

Dry until firm.

Store in airtight container.
