Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies
Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1 c. margarine or butter, softened, 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 tsp. almond extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. In large bowl combine sugar, margarine, cream cheese, salt, almond extract, vanilla and egg yolk; blend well.
Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
Stir in flour until well blended.
Chill dough 2 hours.
Heat oven to 375°.
On lightly floured surface, roll out dough 1/3 at a time to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut into desired shapes with lightly floured cookie cutters.
Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
Leave cookies plain or, if desired, brush with slightly beaten egg white and sprinkle with colored sugar.
Bake at 375° for 7 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown.
Cool completely.
Frost and decorate, if desired.
Makes 5 to 6 dozen cookies.
