Made with 10 slices white bread (or 12), cut into 1-inch cubes, 2 c. crabmeat or 3 c. shelled shrimp, 1/2 c. mayonnaise, 1/2 medium onion, chopped and 1/2 green pepper, chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Spread 1/2 bread cubes in baking dish, 8 x 12-inch (oiled or Pam).
Mix shrimp, mayonnaise, onion, pepper, celery and soup (salt and pepper).
Spread over bread cubes.
Put remaining bread on top.
Blend milk and eggs.
Pour over casserole.
Refrigerate overnight.
Bring to room temperature.
Top with cheese.
Bake at 350° for 1 hour (maybe a little longer).
