Corn Bread
Corn Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/4 c. vegetable oil, 1 c. yellow corn meal, 1 c. all-purpose flour, 2 to 4 tbsp. sugar and 4 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Combine dry ingredients.
Add melted shortening, milk and egg.
Mix just until blended.
Pour into a greased 8 or 9-inch square pan.
May also be put in muffin pans. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Yields approximately 10 servings.
