Mix flour, cornmeal and buttermilk together.
Chip up onion; add to mixture.
Add water to mixture to make batter thin enough. Preheat oven to 450Β°.
Place a little oil in each muffin hole. Place in oven until hot.
Dip a large spoon of mixture into each hole.
Bake until brown.
Makes about 30 minutes.
