Coconut Macaroons
Coconut Macaroons is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. sifted flour, 1/3 tsp. baking soda, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1 c. shortening and 1 c. white sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Combine shortening, sugars, beaten eggs and flavoring; blend well.
Add sifted dry ingredients, rolled oats, nuts and coconut. This is a stiff batter.
Roll 1 teaspoon dough about the size of a walnut; place on oiled cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.
Press slightly with bottom of a glass.
May be trimmed with gumdrops or colored sugar.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350Β° until slightly browned.
