Coconut Cream Pie

Combine first 3 ingredients in a heavy saucepan
Combine milk and egg yolks gradually stir into sugar mixture
Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils
Boil 1 minute stirring constantly
Remove from heat, stir in 1/2 cup coconut, butter and vanilla
Pour into pie shell
Cover with meringue sealing edges and sprinkle 1/4 cup coconut on top of meringue and bake in 350 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
