Christmas Bread
Christmas Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. milk, 1 c. sugar, 1/2 lb. margarine, 1 tsp. salt and 3 pkg. dry yeast dissolved in warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Scald milk.
Add sugar, butter and salt, cool to lukewarm.
Add yeast mixture and 3 cups flour.
Let rise 1 hour, then add vanilla and eggs.
Mix fruit and raisins with 1/4 cup flour, add to dough, then add enough flour to handle (about 4 cups).
Knead well and let rise until light.
Put in greased loaf pans.
Let rise until doubled.
Bake 10 minutes at 400°.
Reduce heat to 325° and bake about 40 minutes.
Frost with confectioners sugar.
Makes 2 loaves.
