Chocolate Pinwheel Cookies
Chocolate Pinwheel Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1/3 c. butter, softened, 1 tbsp. butter, softened, 2 egg yolks and 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Combine shortening, 1/3 cup butter, egg yolks and vanilla in a large bowl.
Mix on low speed until blended. Set aside cocoa packet.
Gradually add cake mix.
Blend well.
Divide dough. Add cocoa packet and remaining 1 tablespoon butter to half of the dough.
Knead until well blended.
Roll out yellow dough between 2 pieces of wax paper.
Roll into rectangular shape. Repeat for chocolate dough.
Remove wax paper. Lay yellow dough on top of chocolate dough.
Roll up like jelly roll, rolling from wide side. Put in refrigerator for 2 hours.
