Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies

In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, soda and salt; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, beat margarine for 30 seconds.
Add sugar; beat on low speed until fluffy.
Add egg and vanilla; beat well on medium speed. Gradually add flour mixture to beaten mixture, beating on low speed until well blended.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Press down center of each cookie with thumb.
Drain cherries; reserve juice.
Press a cherry into the center of each cookie.
Bake at 350Β° for about 10 minutes.
Cool completely.
Add frosting.
