Chocolate Angel Food Cake
Chocolate Angel Food Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. cake flour, sifted 4 times, 1 1/3 c. egg whites, 1 1/3 tsp. cream of tartar, 1 1/4 tsp. vanilla and 1/2 c. cocoa, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Beat egg whites and salt until foamy.
Add cream of tartar. Beat until stiff.
Fold in sugar and flavoring.
Sift a small amount of flour over the mixture and fold in carefully.
Continue until all is used.
Pour into an angel food cake pan.
Bake 1 hour at 275°.
After first 30 minutes, increase heat to 325° and bake 30 minutes longer.
